MAT Foundry Sponsor Premier League Fixture
AFC Bournemouth are enjoying a remarkable season and MAT Foundry were delighted to share in their success last weekend.
While the Cherries bid for European qualification suffered a rare setback at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, MAT were honoured to sponsor this crunch Premier League fixture.
To mark the occasion, a collection of employees, customers and suppliers were in attendance at The Vitality Stadium, where Andoni Iraola’s men went in search of a fifth win in six games. Alas, they came up short in a hotly contested encounter, settled by a classy finish from Wolves playmaker Mattheus Cunha.
It may have been a different story were it not for the unfortunate and contentious dismissal of Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi. The Ukrainian was shown a red card for serious foul play 30 minutes in, but only after a lengthy VAR review.
Despite going down to ten men the home fans were still treated to Bournemouth’s usual brand of expansive football, along with one of the saves of the season by Kepa. The Spaniard reacted brilliantly to deny Jean-Ricner Bellegarde from point blank range shortly before the interval, to the delight of those in the East Stand.
MAT Foundry’s presence in the directors box – and on the big screen – was further evidence of our commitment to local initiatives. Eurac Poole have a proud record of fostering relationships with the local community and nothing brings people together quite like the national sport. As well as backing our hometown team, we wanted demonstrate our appreciation for our own star players… the people behind the scenes whose application and dedication keep us at the forefront of the manufacturing industry.
A big thank you to them and to AFC Bournemouth for the experience. Here’s hoping they’ll follow in MAT Foundry’s footsteps and become a force in Europe next season.
