MAT Foundry Grows Its Sustainability Efforts with Tree Planting Initiative
For over half a century, Eurac Poole has been manufacturing cast iron products for the automotive sector. As industry leaders, we’re constantly investing in our personnel, equipment, and processes to improve efficiency – and this includes a strong focus on sustainability.
Although many successful efforts have been made to reduce our carbon emissions at Eurac Poole, it still emits some carbon into the atmosphere. To combat this, we joined forces with a local school to hold a tree planting event and offset our remaining environmental impact.
The event was hosted by Blandford School in April 2023, a secondary school in located in Blandford Forum. A number of their students were also in attendance.
Over 200 trees were planted at the event, which gave us the opportunity to connect with the local community and take vital steps to shrink our carbon footprint.
For Eurac Poole, sustainability is about balancing economic growth with corporate social responsibility, to create greener production methods.
Growing sustainably means we can safeguard the long-term success of our business, while giving our customers the confidence that we’ll always act ethically on their behalf.
This is a vision not just shared by Eurac Poole today, but one that will be expected by our customers of the future.
We’ve already made significant progress in improving the sustainability of our processes. Our recent actions include…
Switching to 100% renewable electricity
Upgrading our fleet of forklifts to 100% electric models
Investing in a mechanical sand reclamation plant, to reuse waste greensand in our cores.
Of course, there is much more to come – So be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to hear about the latest updates.
