MAT Dania To Run On 100% Renewable Energy from 2025
MAT Foundry Group (MFG) is dedicated to a greener, more sustainable future, building on initiatives across its facilities to reduce carbon emissions and enhance environmental responsibility. Following the path set by Eurac Poole, MAT Dania will transition to 100% renewable energy starting January 1, 2025, a pivotal move in MFG’s broader commitment to sustainability.
The landmark contract with Energi Danmark will enable MAT Dania to replace its traditional, high-emission power sources with 100% wind energy. This shift to green energy not only aligns with MFG's environmental objectives but is expected to save approximately 16,402 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This commitment reflects MAT Foundry’s response to the rising importance of environmental responsibility among both its customers and the global community.
Beyond energy sourcing, MFG is exploring further sustainability measures across its global operations. The Foundry group is investigating opportunities to enhance recycling and waste reduction processes within its facilities. By reusing materials wherever possible and implementing waste reduction strategies, the company aims to further minimise its environmental impact.

This shift to renewable energy and reduction in CO2 emissions is part of a larger corporate strategy, with MAT Foundry Group setting ambitious goals to reduce its overall environmental impact. Plans are underway to replicate this renewable energy transition across other MFG sites, a move that could multiply the carbon savings and further solidify MFG's leadership in sustainable practices within the foundry industry.
As MAT Foundry Group works to implement these green initiatives, it also maintains a focus on transparency and accountability in its sustainability practices. Regular reporting on CO2 savings, energy efficiency improvements, and waste reduction achievements will enable MFG to track its progress and continually adapt its practices to meet its environmental goals. This forward-thinking approach not only meets the expectations of today’s eco-conscious stakeholders but also ensures that MFG remains a responsible steward of the environment for future generations.
With this shift toward sustainability, MAT Foundry Group is setting an industry standard, proving that traditional manufacturing can adapt to a greener future.
