"Joining MAT Foundry has exceeded my expectations. I've had the opportunity to grow professionally and personally, traveling and meeting incredible people. My passion for foundry has led me to experiences I never imagined."
My Beginnings at MINCER HD
My journey at MINCER HD began shortly after graduating from UNAM (The National Autonomous University of Mexico), with a solid foundation in Metallurgical Engineering. I was looking for a place where I could apply my knowledge and grow in the automotive foundry industry. MINCER HD, part of MAT Foundry Group, offered me that opportunity. I started as an intern, learning from each department and absorbing the company's culture. From the beginning, I felt part of a global team.
Intern Experience: Learning and Growth
As an intern, I spent 2 months exploring the various aspects of foundry and quality at MINCER HD. I was involved in quality control, new project development, and dealing directly with customer queries. Rene Hernandez, Julian Barron, Alejandro S. and Alejandro Espinoza were crucial in my learning, guiding me and sharing their experience. Every day was an opportunity to learn and grow. The flexibility and support of the internship program allowed me to develop essential technical and soft skills, facing new responsibilities that have been crucial to my training and growth.
The International Challenge: Thailand and CIMC GSA
My first major professional challenge was resolving a complaint from CIMC GSA in Thailand. This trip marked my first international experience and my first direct contact with foreign clients. The initial uncertainty turned into an opportunity to apply my skills and build valuable relationships. The successful resolution of the complaint and the creation of an action plan strengthened customer confidence and opened doors for future collaborations. This trip showed me that I could face and overcome challenges in a global environment, despite the fear and never having flown on a plane, the challenge and confidence of the team was what motivated me to move forward.
Customer Quality Engineer: A Global Role
After my internship experience, I took on the role of Customer Quality Engineer. This allowed me to work with clients from all over the world, including CIMC, Continental, Brembo, and Detroit Diesel Corporation. My day-to-day involves resolving complaints, managing projects, using advanced laboratory equipment, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards. Managing PPAP documentation and participating in international meetings have been fundamental to my professional development.
Goals and Future at MAT Foundry
My goals at MAT Foundry are focused on continuing to grow and contribute to the company's success. I aspire to take on greater responsibilities and lead more complex projects. The opportunity I am now given to work closely with experts and references from our MAT group like Kai Liu and Chris Lee will be an important step in my development. I want to continue learning and adapting to the challenges of the industry, and I am excited about the opportunities that the future holds.
MINCER HD and MAT Foundry: A Personal and Professional Impact
MINCER HD and MAT Foundry Group represent for me an opportunity for growth and professional development. I value the learning culture and the collaborative environment that exists in the company. I would recommend MINCER HD to anyone passionate about foundry and manufacturing. The people at MINCER HD are talented and committed, and the directors Marcelo Jardim and Luis A. Rico are inspiring leaders who trust in young people and fresh visions; a clear example is the new talent at Mincer, all born from the 2024 internship program. The program allowed me to discover new skills and catapult my professional path. Joining MAT Foundry has exceeded my expectations, allowing me to grow professionally and personally, traveling and meeting incredible people. I am grateful to be part of this group, of MAT Foundry, and for the opportunities that lie ahead.
